Adults Only (18+)
Anonymate is reserved for users who are at least 18 years old. During registration the App performs a neutral age check: the date of birth entered is never stored or transmitted, only the outcome of the check remains on the device. Use by anyone under 18 is not permitted.
Because content on a decentralized network is not filtered in advance, there are no developer-managed "Safe Search" modes.
Zero Tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE)
Quest Studio Games has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Any CSAE material, grooming, or sexualization of minors is strictly prohibited.
- Report illegal content directly in the App, or email support@queststudiogames.com for CSAE reports.
- For non-consensual intimate images, the App directs victims to StopNCII.org.
- We cooperate with law enforcement to the extent required by applicable law.
On-Device Content Checks
Before an image or a video leaves your device, Anonymate runs a set of automated checks locally. Nothing is uploaded to Quest Studio Games for analysis and no third-party scanning service is involved.
- Nudity classifier: a neural network (MobileNetV2) runs on the device and blocks explicit nudity before publication.
- Perceptual fingerprints: images and frames sampled from videos are reduced to a perceptual hash and compared, by Hamming distance, against a reference list of known harmful media bundled with the app.
- Context analysis: the caption is checked for wording that combines minors with sexual or coercive context. A matching post is blocked, and can proceed only after a review performed by the on-device AI.
- Local audit trail: every match is recorded on the device only.
These checks run on the publishing device and reduce the amount of harmful material that reaches the network. They are not a guarantee: they cannot inspect content published by other clients on the Nostr network, and where the model is unavailable on a device, publication proceeds without the check.
User-Generated Content
All interactions within the network are produced directly by users and distributed across independent third-party relays. Therefore:
- There is no centralized moderation of content by Quest Studio Games.
- Material or discussions unsuitable for some audiences may be present.
- Viewing content is a conscious choice made by the user.
Local Protection Tools
Anonymate provides tools built into the client to let anyone manage their experience safely:
- Mute: Instantly hides the posts and updates of a specific user.
- Block User: Prevents any future interaction with a specific user.
- Hide Post: Lets you immediately remove a single post from your feed.
- Report: Sends a signed report to the moderators of the community concerned and hides the content from your own feed.
Note for Parents and Guardians
Anonymate is an adults-only, unmoderated platform. If a minor gains access to a device despite the age check, the account holder or guardian is responsible for that access. We recommend device-level parental controls.
Limitation of Liability
Anonymate is an unmoderated, decentralized platform intended for adults. Quest Studio Games cannot pre-screen content transmitted by third parties across independent relays. Users accept the risks associated with using an unmoderated platform.
